Video: New process of Li-ion battery recycling

The production of LIBs is increasing due to the growing demand for LIBs. This means that ecological and efficient ways of recycling LIBs are needed in order to recover precious battery components that can be reused. Researchers at the Institute for Applied Materials – Energy Storage Systems (IAM-ESS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) Institute for Technology (KIT) have found a highly efficient mechanochemically induced process to recycle lithium from cathode materials.
