The Post Lithium Conference

MagBatt VI

We are excited to announce a special three-day event that, for the first time, unites two major conferences in the post-lithium battery community: MagBatt VI × ELLIPSE.

This combined conference will take place in Ulm, Germany, from September 9 to 11, bringing together leading international experts to explore cutting-edge developments in next-generation battery technologies. By merging the scope of the International Symposium on Magnesium Batteries (MagBatt) with the ELectroLytes and Interfaces in PoSt-Li BatteriEs (ELLIPSE) Conference, attendees can expect an exceptionally rich scientific program.

MagBatt VI × ELLIPSE will feature contributions on:

  • Sodium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, and aluminum batteries

  • Electrolytes, interfaces, and interphases

  • Advanced characterization and modeling

  • Charge-transfer processes and related fundamental research

The goal of this joint event is to present and discuss the latest state-of-the-art findings and progress across the entire post-lithium field, from materials and mechanisms to electrochemical performance and analytical innovations. As always, participants can look forward to talks from many of the world’s foremost battery researchers.

More details, including exact dates and program highlights, will follow soon. Save the date for this unique convergence of two renowned conferences in Ulm!

You are warmly invited to the ELLIPSE Conference to be held in Ulm.

Ulm, a charming city in the southwest of Germany, is nestled on the banks of the Danube River. With a history dating back to the 9th century, Ulm seamlessly blends medieval and modern elements, making it a unique and vibrant destination. The city is perhaps best known for the Ulm Minster, a towering Gothic cathedral boasting the world's tallest steeple, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding region.

Strolling through Ulm's picturesque streets, one can encounter well-preserved half-timbered houses, quaint squares, and the bustling atmosphere of its marketplaces. The city also prides itself on its academic and cultural institutions, including the University of Ulm, which drives innovation and research.

A significant figure in Ulm's history is Albert Einstein, the renowned physicist, who was born here in 1879. Although Einstein's family moved to Munich when he was just a year old, Ulm honors his legacy with various memorials and an enduring sense of pride in their native son.

In Ulm, the past and present coexist harmoniously, creating a city that is as historically rich as it is forward-looking.
