POLiS PI Prof. Dr. Schabel elected President of the European Coating Society (ECS)
Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Schabel, Principal Investigator at the POLiS Cluster of Excellence, was elected as the new President of the European Coating Society (ECS) until 2027. The election took place during the Scientific Committee and Board of Directors meeting during the 22nd ECS 2023 in Paris from 12th to 15th September.
Besides Prof. Schabel from Germany, Prof. Gilbert Gugler from the Iprint Institute, Fribourg in Switzerland and Prof. Hadj Benkreira from the University of Bradford, UK were elected as the new ECS Vice Presidents for the next four years.

The European Coating Symposium and the European Coating Society (ECS) combine and represent the European Coating Communities since 1995 with members from academia, education, industry, and other areas all over Europe. Their Mission is to strengthen and support Coating Science & Coating Technology in Europe and to promote particularly new emerging core competences in coating applications in the fields of renewable Energy Conversion and Storage technologies.
