DFG visits POLiS

For the first time, representatives of the German Research Foundation (DFG) visited the POLiS Cluster of Excellence at its location in Ulm. Dr. Christine Petry, Programme Director for Clusters of Excellence, Dr. Ilka Paulus, responsible for the technical programme management of POLiS, and guest researcher Cyntia Oliveira were welcomed by the Presidencies of the Ulm University and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Weber, President of the Ulm University, emphasized the fruitful cooperation between the two institutions and the resulting synergy effects. In addition to research, the discussions with the POLiS board and young researchers focused on the topics of equal opportunity, support of early career researchers and research data management.
POLiS is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of the excellence strategy of the federal and state governments - as the only German cluster of excellence for battery research. POLiS will receive 47 million euros over a period of seven years.
